The Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, is set to present the 2025 budget estimate to the Enugu State House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The presentation will take place at the Assembly Complex, with all invited guests expected to be seated by 9:30 AM.
Key stakeholders, including Executive Council members, Special Advisers, government appointees, heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), traditional rulers, the State PDP Chairman, party faithful, and the PDP Women Wing, are expected to grace the occasion. The announcement of the proposed budget presentation was made by Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters who granted a letter to that effect, recieved and read at the house legislative plenary yesterday, thursday 21st of November, 2024
This presentation follows the historic 2024 budget titled the "Budget of Disruptive Economic Growth," where the state government proposed a record-breaking sum of ₦521.6 billion.
That budget, the highest in the state's history, was aimed at fostering unprecedented economic transformation, with a 132% increase from the previous year's revised budget. Governor Mbah's focus on capital-intensive projects, particularly in education, infrastructure, and healthcare, underscored his administration's commitment to sustainable development.
