In his proactive nature, the Executive Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area, Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh today 19th of November, 2024, took a tour to the on going Green Smart School construction site at Amafor Ugbawka ward 1. The Chairman who spoke to newsmen at the site, During the inspection, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work, noting that the project is being executed in accordance with the specified standards. He commended contractor for his commitment to delivering high-quality work.
He said that he will not sleep just to see that all the on going projects embark upon by the government of the state under His Excellency Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is completed at approximately time.
"We are pleased with the work being done and we are confident that this project will significantly improve the lives of our children and reposition the education sector of Enugu State, he said ."
However, the secretary to Enugu State government Prof Chidiebere Onyia who joined the inspection unannounced praised Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh for his unwavering concern and support to the State Government. According to him," I was surprised to see you here as I never discussed about my visit here with you, it is a prove that your commitment is not in doubt".
The SSG further said, that the governor plans to commission all the smart schools projects by September 2025.
He stated that the Green Smart School is part of the Enugu State Government's initiative to maintain high standards across all schools
"The Green Smart School project is a significant investment in the state's education sector, focusing on infrastructure, student welfare, and innovative learning. With the government's commitment to commissioning these projects, the future of education in Enugu State looks brighter than ever, he said" .
