Today, it was an admirable display of faith and community spirit, as the Executive Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Aka Eze Aka, and his wife Sylvia AkaEzeAka celebrated the dedication of their first child, Okikeabia Jesoeme AkaEzeAka, at the Mater Dei Catholic Church Trans-Ekulu Enugu. The warm ceremony attracted a multitude of guests among whom were VIPs and featured a blend of sacred devotion and festive celebration.
The Holy Mass of dedication was marked by solemnity and joy as three priests, including Rev. Fr. Casmir Uramah, the brother-in-law of the Chairman, concelebrated the Liturgy. Rev. Fr. Hyginus Ezebuilo CSSP, who delivered a poignant homily, urged congregation to take inspiration from the AkaEzeAka family’s remarkable journey of patience and faith. Having endured 21 years of childlessness, the couple’s devotion to God served as a profound souvenir to the power of faith and perseverance.
Rev. Fr. Ezebuilo emphasized the importance of maintaining faith in the face of adversity, affirming that miraculous blessings often follow enduring trials. His call to emulate such steadfastness resonated deeply within the congregation, encouraging many to reflect on their own spiritual journeys.
Following the Mass, guests were ushered to a sumptuous reception at the Ingrace Event Center, situated on Rangers Avenue in Enugu. The reception ceremony offered a festive atmosphere, where relatives, friends, and dignitaries celebrated the joyous occasion with food, music, and shared memories.
Prominent figures in attendance included Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the Secretary to the State Government of Enugu, alongside Executive Chairmen from neighboring Local Government Areas: Enugu East, Udi, Igbo Eze North, Ezeagu, and Oji River. Hon. Solomon Izuchukwu Onah, representing Udenu at the Enugu State House of Assembly, showcased his support, while other notable attendees included the Vice Chairman of Udenu LGA, Hon. Mrs. Onyinye Odoh, and Udenu PDP Chairman, Hon. Meletus Onah. Hon. Onyekachi C Ugwu, Dr. Okwudili Jude, Mr. Chekwube Eneje as well as Kelechi Kelycool Obetta (Deputy DG AkaEzeAka Media Team) brought their support for the first family to the fore.
The presence of former Udenu Chairman, Dr. Godwin Abonyi, and several Honorable councilors led by Hon. Dr. Nnamdi Odoh from Udenu enriched the gathering, indicating the significant local support for the AkaEzeAka family.
Dr. Ifeanyi Ohabuenyi, MD/CEO of Bridget Memorial Hospital Obollo Afor, also graced the event, adding to the esteemed roster of guests celebrating this milestone in the AkaEzeAka family’s life.
Engr. Christian Ibeh Ugwu, Hon. Norbert Chizoba Abah (PDP Chairman Obollo Etiti Ward), Hon. Ikechukwu Odoh (Administrator Udenu East Development Center), Hon. Omalicha Udenu (Administrator Udunedem Development Center) also added colour to the event.
As the couple embarks on this new journey of parenthood, their story serves as a beacon of hope and an inspiration to many, demonstrating that with enduring faith and love, all things are possible.
