The newly sworn-in mayor of Igbo-Etiti local government, Hon Dr Eric Odo resumes office today after inauguration and independence holiday. The tear leather chairman who came to the office at Ogbede - Igbo-Etiti local government council headquarters, at early hours of today had a long interaction with the staff of the council.
He maintained his resolute stand of productive running of the government as a hallmark of his administration. In the light of his tends, he urged the staff to be dedicated to their duty as the government will not relent in reciprocating the dignity of their services. The ground of punctuality and consistency should be an outlook objective in all the departments and units.
The mayor maintained his stand on the modalities of incorporation of the poor and less privileged as the crux of his administration. He vocally stated that these poor placed individuals in the society are the focal starmds of his dispensation. As a professional in societal deals, he maintained on evaluating the inputs of equitable pro rata in whims and caprices of labour force. In a more and even development, he stated the obvious target to forestall the mantra of “MAN POWER BASE OF ENUGU STATE” as a slogan known for Igbo-Etiti. And as a broader pattern to enhance the state's watchword of disruptive innovation. It is at this juncture that the iconic mayor further stressed that the vice chairman of the council - Hon Barr Mrs Chinasa Nwabufo Okagu is already taking the lead in the data collection of the down trodden( less privileged) in Igbo-Etiti.
He warned on the sidelining and clanish tendency inherent in cooperative nature of man as a backdrop to anyone who loves Igbo-Etiti. Hon Dr Eric, assured to do away with nepotistic norm of such quality.
In another development, Hon Dr Eric reemphasized on regular payment of workers’ salaries and as when due. He reminded them of his campaign promise, that his administration is for the welfare of the poor and lower class.
Highlights of this euphoria was the introduction of the heads of departments by the Head of Personnel Management (HPM) Igbo-Etiti - Mrs Jennifer Nwagbowo, a brief prayer and reflection by Rev Father Val Mbah.
The brand new chairman later had a meeting with the heads and management of Igbo-Etiti work force. At the end he visited all the departments and units of Igbo-Etiti local government council.
It was such awesome moment for today as the new breeze of fresh air is eminent in Igbo-Etiti local government council.
