ENSUBEB CELEBRATES TEACHERS DAY: ADVISES TEACHERS TO BE MODELS THAT FUTURE GENERATIONS WILL ADMIRE

Teachers mark their day globally on the 5th of October of every year. Today, the Executive Chairman, Board Member, Management, and staff of Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board congratulate our teachers who bear the torchlight of civilization, enlightenment, and nation-building through selfless sacrifices to ensure that the light of education does not blink.

The popular slogans of "Teachers are great, no controversy" and "No teacher, no nation" buttress the strategic roles of teachers in transforming society and in the incubation of a new generation of people with great ideas. These slogans make more meaning for the present generation than ever before. The quest for education has further imposed more responsibilities on teachers to keep nations' hope alive and these responsibilities are regardless of material rewards.

*On this occasion, we celebrate our committed teachers for doing humanity proud, and we are confident that their garden of good works will bear good fruits and valuable products that will surely be an indelible trademark of role models for the future to envy and copy. The aspiration of every society is to maintain a register of teachers who have a passion for teaching and are ready to adapt to skill-based change and transformation in the education sector.*

*Teachers in Enugu State have contributed and continue to play key roles in shaping and refining our pupils to become great icons tomorrow. For this reason, Governor Peter Mbah reciprocate the gesture by approving minimum wage, leave allowances, and other sundry benefits for teachers. This is in recognition of the fact that there is a symbiotic relationship between motivation and productivity.*

*Congratulations to all teachers on this new milestone and may God bless and continue to reward us for our contributions towards nation-building in Nigeria - Amen!*

Signed:

Assoc Prof Hyginus Banko Okibe,

 Executive Chairman ENSUBEB
