Nkanu East PDP Campaign Council Unveils Grassroots-Based Campaign Timetable Ahead 2024 LG Election


Nkanu East Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign council has officially released the timetable for the 2024 local government election campaign. This schedule, which targets the four development areas of the local government, marks the beginning of what is expected to be a vigorous grassroots-focused campaign for the PDP’s candidates, Hon. Sydney Okechukwu Edeh (Sydok) and his running mate, Hon. Paul Okwor.


According to the timetable, the campaign will kick off on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Amankanu Development Area in Idodo Zone. The event is set to begin at 12 noon, and will feature speeches, party mobilization efforts, and interactions with local stakeholders. Following this, the campaign train will move to the Nkanu Central Development Area on Saturday, September 14, 2024, with Amagunze hosting the rally, also starting at 12 noon.


The third phase of the campaign will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the Nkanu South Development Area in Mburubu. As the candidates gather momentum ahead of the local government election, they will then proceed to the grand finale on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Asu Nkanu Development Area in Ugbawka. The final rally will commence at 1 pm, signaling the peak of PDP’s electioneering activities in the local government.


In a statement released by the Director-General of the PDP Nkanu East Campaign Council, Hon. Okey Mbah, the party emphasized its strong connection with the grassroots in the local government. He highlighted the overwhelming support that Hon. Sydney Okechukwu Edeh and Hon. Paul Okwor have already garnered from the people, describing them as the candidates of choice across the wards and development centers.


Hon. Mbah further urged all stakeholders, ward leaders, and community heads to ensure the successful mobilization of party members and supporters for the upcoming campaign tour. He noted that these rallies will provide an opportunity for the PDP to solidify its presence at the grassroots level and communicate the party’s agenda of prosperity, peace, and continuity in local government administration.


The Director-General also called on the people of Nkanu East to support the party’s candidates by voting for the PDP on September 21, 2024. He encouraged voters to look for the umbrella logo on the ballot, ensuring a continuation of the impactful, people-oriented governance that the PDP has provided in the local government over the years.


With the election drawing near, the PDP’s campaign timetable shows the party’s readiness to connect with every corner of Nkanu East. The campaign promises to be a robust and energetic affair, with expectations that the candidates will engage directly with the electorate, sharing their vision for the future of the local government area.
