In the events leading up to the 2023 general elections, the Divine Mandate Support Group cast its spotlight on candidates vying for the governorship of Enugu State. After thorough evaluation, the group deemed Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah the most credible candidate, thanks to his impressive track record and vision for Ndi Enugu, as outlined in his manifesto. This conviction led to the group’s endorsement of Mbah as their preferred candidate, and the movement evolved into the Divine Mandate Support Group for Peter Mbah.
On August 5th, 2022, the group officially inaugurated its state and local government executives. During the event, the group’s leader, Hon. Chukwu, likened Peter Mbah to the great M.I. Okpara of our time. He urged the newly inaugurated executives to campaign vigorously for Mbah, ensuring the people of Enugu were well aware of his industrialist mindset and visionary leadership.
The Divine Mandate Support Group for Peter Mbah, alongside other support groups, embarked on an extensive campaign across all 17 Local Government Areas, as well as urban centers, canvassing for votes for the PDP governorship candidate. The outcome was a resounding victory for Barr. Peter Mbah.
Reflecting on Mbah’s recent achievements, Hon. Theophilus Chukwu, along with the leadership and members of the support group, expressed immense satisfaction with the governor’s outstanding developmental strides. In just 180 days, Gov. Mbah delivered on key promise, of providing potable water to Enugu urban,His excellency also embarked on other giant people oriented massive developmental projects such as reviving of the moribund Enugu Steel Industry, rehabilitation of the Hotel Presidential, rebuilding the Enugu International Conference Center, and commissioning the Enugu Asphalt Plant.
Further accomplishments include massive road infrastructure projects, such as the commissioning of a road in Abakpa Nike, named after the celebrated folktale musician Mike Ejeaha. Gov. Mbah has also initiated the construction of green health centers, smart schools across 260 political wards, and a 300-bed Enugu International Hospital.
The Divine Mandate Support Group is proud of its decision to support Peter Mbah, as he has exceeded expectations and brought pride not only to them but to all Ndi Enugu. With his administration's bold pursuit of raising Enugu’s GDP from $4 billion to $30 billion, the state is set to become a preferred destination for both local and foreign investors, securing its place among the world’s most developed cities.
