The reason for this change in the field of study was occasioned by his desire to study Accountancy.
It was during his time at Orba Boys that Aka's leadership qualities began to emerge. Recognizing the need for civic engagement and the importance of local governance, he contested the position of Councillor on the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the old Obollo Eke ward during the stillborn third republic (1992 — 1993). He won the election and went on to represent his people at the old Isi Uzo Local Government legislative Council. This bold move not only demonstrated Aka's political acumen but also his commitment to serving his community.
Following his foray into local politics, Aka's academic pursuits continued to flourish. He was admitted to the prestigious University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, where he studied accountancy and graduated with honors. Aka's journey took an exciting turn when he joined the Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS) as a newscaster and presenter.
