Nkpologu Agog as Kinsmen Receive PDP Chairmanship Flagbearer, Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu.


There was a wild jubilation at Amaidi Nkpologu in Uzo Uwani LGA of Enugu State as Kinsmen to the Chairmanship Flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the upcoming LG election in the local council, had gathered in the candidate's country home, to give him warm reception.


The event which took place on 19th of August, 2024, attracted different groups which included men, women, youths, local security agents across Adada Development Centre, as well as friends and well-wishers across Nsukka Senatorial zone. 


The Flagbearer was accompanied on the visit by the newly elected Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the LGA, Hon. Kingsley Ani (TK); Mr. Alphonsus Okoro (PDP Chairmanship Aspirant); former Councilor of Nkpologu Ward, Princess Eziamaka and Mr. Ogochukwu Ogbobe, among others. 


Receiving the candidate on behalf of his  kinsmen, Supol Christopher Ezugwu, expressed gratitude to the gods of Amidi Nkpologu for granting their son the opportunity to secure the PDP Chairmanship ticket, while offering heartfelt prayers that the gods bestow wisdom, protection, and guidance upon Barrister Chijioke as he embarks on this onerous assignment.


"It is our prayer that God grant you the wisdom and protection necessary to excel in this role. The trust placed in you by the Governor and the people of Uzo-Uwani shall not be in vain. You shall exceed the people's expectations," he prayed fervently.


In his remarks, the Chairman of PDP in the LGA,  Hon. Kingsley Ani (TK), expressed gratitude to the people of Nkpologu for electing him during the recent local government party congress. 


He also thanked the governor, Barr. Mba, for recognizing the worthiness of an Adada man to lead the local government Council, while also commending the governor for his choice of a security expert to become the chief Executive officer of the local council.


Responding to speeches during the event, Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu, candidate of the PDP in the LGA, thanked the people of the area for organizing the reception in his honor. He however, expressed his gratitude to God Almighty, the governor and the people of the LGA for choosing him to steer the ship of leadership in the local council. 


He also used the opportunity to assure that his administration would not fail the people of the LGA, while restating his readiness to tackle insecurity headlong, after assumption of office.


"I'm so thankful to the Almighty God for making this opportunity a reality. I also want to use this opportunity to thank His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mba (the action governor). 


"Here is A governor of few words, who demonstrates the capacity for social and infrastructural development. 


"This is my hometown, my village, and my people welcomed me today. I'm so thankful to God Almighty.


"What I promise you is that I and the party chairman you voted for will not fail. All we ask for is your support. We beg everyone, our first agenda is security. 


"If you know anything you can do to help Uzo-Uwani, please lend a helping hand to your people. I cannot achieve anything without your support.


"I'm overwhelmed by the type of welcome and acceptance you gave me today. My joy knows no bounds. Thank you, everyone."


Meanwhile, the candidate was later received by a large crowd of party faithfuls from Uzo Uwani LGA, who had laid ambush somewhere in Nsukka LGA, to celebrate his victory at the recent primary election of the PDP.
