Read Engr Agu's Profile and plan for Udi Local Government Area.
*HERE I AM SEND ME*
_Ndi'Udi_ I kindly seek your support and partnership to build a secured and prosperous society.
My name is Engr. Hyginus Ogbonna Agu, a native of Umuoka community in Egede/Umuoka Political Ward (Zone C precisely) of UDI North State Constituency of Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Growing up, I attended Community Primary School Umuoka for my First School Leaving Certificate. Thereafter, I proceeded to St. Theresa's College Nsukka for my secondary education and obtained my West African School Certificate. Afterwards I was enrolled to study Civil Engineering at the Institute of management and Technology Enugu (IMT) where I majored in Transportation Engineering.
Upon graduation, I sat for my professional examinations, passed and admitted into the prestigious Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), as well as the National Association of Technologist in Engineering (NATE).
Throughout my upbringing, I consistently assumed leadership positions, from offering guidance within my own family as the eldest of six siblings to serving as a class prefect from primary three through primary six. This wasn't solely due to being the best but often because my peers recognized my ability to provide leadership and always called upon me to do so.
I consistently demonstrated servant leadership down to my tenure as a House captain in one of the most demanding hostels at the college, known as Butler Hostel. This hostel was especially challenging because it housed newcomers who were learning to adapt to both hostel and college life. I fulfilled this role exceptionally well, earning recognition from the school in the form of an Excellence Award.
During my initial year at the institution, I took the initiative to unite all students from my hometown, creating an organization that facilitated discussions about our shared challenges as students. This umbrella organization soon extended its reach to encompass all higher institutions in the SouthEast region. I was elected as the President, where I organized various seminars, workshops, and cultural events. These activities were aimed at broadening our horizons and preparing us to face the diverse challenges of life beyond our academic pursuits.
I commenced my professional journey with COMAG Steel and Construction Company Limited after my NYSC as a trainee engineer. I progressed to the role of a site manager and assumed diverse responsibilities, including serving as the equipment manager, with responsibility to oversee substantial inventory of over one thousand pieces of equipment within Nigeria.
My professional journey was to expand beyond the corporate sector, as I had the privilege of serving my people after being appointed by the former governor of Enugu State, Barr. Sullivan Chime, as Sole administrator for Ojebe-Ogene Development Area. Additionally, I was elected to serve as the immediate past Deputy Chairman of Udi Local Government Area. In these leadership roles, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to fulfilling my responsibilities and remained receptive to learning and embracing new opportunities and perspectives. These positions and associated responsibilities have afforded me invaluable learning opportunities and abilities to contribute positively to the cause of good governance.
It is then my wish and desire to align myself with the development and governance objectives of the current administration by seeking the position of Udi Local Government Area Chairman. I am fully aware of the government's commitment to advancing Enugu State's development and elevating its GDP.
Inspired by these significant efforts, I offer my candidature with humility, aiming to contribute to the realization of these goals, particularly in the Udi region of Enugu State.
