In a well-coordinated electoral process, the Enugu State Chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has successfully elected new executives to steer the affairs of Nigerian students in the state for the 2024-2025 academic year. The election, which took place at the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (UNEC), was marked by a high turnout of student representatives from various higher institutions across the state, reflecting a strong commitment to democratic practices within the student body.
The election was organized by the state Convention Planning Committee (CPC), led by Comrade Ejike Celestine as Chairman, and Comrade Ikechukwu Emmanuel Obi as Secretary. The process was widely regarded as free, fair, and transparent, culminating in the emergence of Comrade Cajetan Ali as the new Chairman of the Joint Campus Council (JCC). Comrade Ali’s election marks the beginning of a new chapter for NANS Enugu State, with expectations high for his leadership to address the concerns and aspirations of students in the state.
In the same vein, Comrade Ani Stephanie Chioma was elected as the Vice Chairman of leadership team that will oversee the activities of the association. Other key positions were filled by students from various institutions, ensuring a diverse representation across the board. Comrade James Ndubuisi Emmanuel emerged as the Secretary General, with Comrade Ugwu Sobechi Abel serving as the Assistant Secretary, ensuring the effective administration of the association's affairs.

-Comrade Ifunanya Donatus as Financial Secretary.
-Comrade Ani Uchenna Valentine as Treasurer.

-Comrade Udegbo Charity Sochima as Director of Health.
-Comrade Ugwu Kingsley Chiagozie as Director of Sports.
-Comrade Echezonachukwu David C. as Director of Ethics and Privileges.
-Comrade Okoh Onyedikachi Excel as Director of Special Duties.
-Comrade Ogbodo Ebubecgukwu P. as Director of Inter-Campus Crisis Management.
-Comrade Ebiloma Kizito Amana as Director of Actions and Mobilization.
-Comrade Nnadi Tobenna as Director of Tech & Innovation.
-Comrade Ogbonna Emmanuel Chisom as Director of Socials and Welfare.
-Comrade Ugwu Miracle Loveth as Director of Entrepreneurship.
The event was graced by prominent NANS leaders and stakeholders, including the Coordinator of NANS Zone F (South East), Comrade Chidi Nzekwe, and former NANS President, Comrade Chidi Ilogebe. Other notable attendees were former NANS Coordinators for the South East, Comrade Moses Ibeabuchi (IBB), Barr Chika Nzelu (Chief and Chairman), Comr Obinna Achionye, the outgoing NANS Chairman of Enugu State, Comrade Prisca Okeke, other former NANS Chairmen, Comr Darlington Ugwuegbe, Comr Romanus Ogene, and Comr Ikechukwu Emmanuel Obi.
The election drew the participation of faculty and departmental presidents, as well as student union leaders from several institutions across the state.

-Comrade Collins Chiegwu (SUG President of the Federal Cooperative College, Oji-River).
