On July 13, 2024, Members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Enugu East Local Government Chapter gathered in large numbers at the party's office, celebrating the ongoing good governance in Enugu State.
The meeting commenced with opening remarks from Hon. Jonas Nwachi Ogbu, the PDP Chairman of Enugu East LG Chapter. He expressed gratitude to party faithful for their unwavering support and solidarity, praising stakeholders for their financial and moral contributions towards the party’s progress.
Hon. Ogbu seized the moment to thank God for blessing Enugu State with the leadership of Gov. Peter Mbah. He highlighted the completed and ongoing projects in the state as evidence of Mbah's visionary, purpose-driven, and people-oriented leadership. He urged party members to continue praying for Gov. Mbah to realize his beneficial agenda for the state. Additionally, Hon. Ogbu announced that the party's Ward Congress would take place on July 27, 2024, and urged interested candidates to adhere to the party's guidelines for a peaceful congress.
In his commendation speech, Hon. Livinus Nze Anike, the immediate past Executive Chairman of Enugu East LGA, thanked party members for their unwavering support. He encouraged them to embrace peace and love to advance the party’s objectives. Hon. Anike lauded Gov. Mbah for his excellent work across all 17 local government areas of the state, calling on the council area’s residents to continue their support for Mbah’s administration.
Hon. Pst. Beloved Dan Anike, former Board Member of Enugu State Universal Basic Education, urged the council area’s residents to embrace Gov. Mbah’s philosophy to take advantage of the opportunities provided by his administration. He emphasized the importance of acquiring ICT skills to remain relevant in the governor's digitally-driven governance. Pst. Anike also proposed a reconciliatory unit tour across the twelve electoral wards of the council area and donated six hundred thousand naira to support this initiative.
Several other speakers, including Dr. Peter Aneke, Barr. Chukws Agbo, Amb. Amaka Nweke, Hon. Bethrand Anike, and Hon. Uche Nnamchi, praised Gov. Mbah’s good governance. They echoed the sentiments of other stakeholders regarding the ongoing transformation in Enugu State and called on the masses to provide unwavering support to sustain Mbah’s innovative leadership.
In a display of commitment to the PDP's progress, financial donations were made by Hon. Livinus Nze Anike, Hon. Gab Onu, Hon. Felix Nnamani, Dr. Peter Aneke, Barr. Chukws Agbo, Hon. Bethrand Anike, Amb. Amaka Nweke, Hon. Uche Nnamchi, Pst. Gab Ngwu, and Prince Wilfred Edeoga.
The meeting was overseen by Hon. Ogechukwu Nnamani, former Deputy Chairman of Isi-Uzo LGA, on behalf of the state party's executive committee. The highlight of the gathering was the rendition of solidarity songs by party members in honor of Gov. Peter Mbah and Hon. Livinus Nze Anike.
