Early morning of that faithful day, social media platforms were agog and buzzed with numerous testimonials, reflective and deep wishes, congratulations and prayers to a great son of Enugu State, philanthropist par excellence and maker of men, Hon. Ikeje Asogwa (Ide N' Iheaka)
It was not surprising that many celebrated him on his 55 birthday. This is despite the fact that he no longer occupies any public office now. The barrage of wishes were huge and massive.
At his palatial home in Zoo Estate, Enugu State were massive, unsolicited and unscheduled visits by friends, relatives and well-wishers, who trooped in with many gifts in honour, appreciation and expression of profound gratitude to a man who has used and still using his God-given opportunities and wealth to touch lives like no other of his peers.
Unprepared and suddenly, a great and magnificent birthday bash was organized and staged in his honour amidst pomp and pageantry.
Guests, friends, family members, political associates, benefactors were treated with sumptuous meals of different qualities and class, exotic and assorted drinks.
Live band crew of the popular Ulaga was on ground alongside DJ Efex. They provided the celebrant and his guests with best of afro, classic and traditional music.
It was a worthy and great celebration of a great son of Enugu State, a man with heart of gold and cheerful giver, who have remained himself and always happy at 55.
Chief Ikeje Asogwa is a permanent good man, who as a "former this and former that in Enugu State Government" has indeed paid and still paying his dues. He is a blessing to humanity and a source of great inspiration to the upcoming generation. He is a rare breed and a man with a large heart. Testimonies of his goodness and philanthropy are abound. At 55, he is energetic and calm. He has his eyes on the ball and obviously there are better days ahead for him. Happy birthday great man and many more years of prosperity and longevity.
