GRATITUDE: Mother of Christ Specialist Hospital Enugu Showcases Former Governor's July Donations Worth Over N6 Million Naira

The Management of Mother of Christ Specialist Hospital in Enugu has expressed profound gratitude to the immediate past Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his recent donations of ultramodern hospital equipment and cash to support the hospital and settle bills of indigent citizens. This significant contribution, valued at over N6 million, marks the 11th year of Ugwuanyi's continuous humanitarian support to the hospital.

On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, the hospital proudly showcased the donations they received from Ugwuanyi's representative. The items included two sets of incubators worth N3,600,000, four sets of rechargeable fans valued at N330,000, and a cash donation of N1,511,000 to settle hospital bills for indigent patients, along with other cash gifts.

In her heartfelt appreciation, the Chief Medical Director of Mother of Christ Specialist Hospital, Reverend Sister Mary-Ignatia Okafor, reminisced about the hospital's first encounter with Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in 2013. She described it as divine and highlighted the former governor's unwavering support over the years, which has amounted to hundreds of millions of Naira in aid for indigent patients.

"Our joy has no bounds. We cannot thank God enough for sending Gburugburu to us. God has continued to use Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to answer our prayers and those of the poor masses," Reverend Sister Okafor expressed. "We prayed to God for help because we had lost touch with Gburugburu since he left office. Miraculously, God heard our prayers and brought him to intervene. Honestly, this is a miracle because we had already lost hope." Reverend Sister Okafor prayed that Almighty God would continue to remember Ugwuanyi just as he remembered the hospital in their time of need.

The equipment and cash gifts presented by Ugwuanyi's representative, Ambassador Mrs. Amaka Nweke JP, to the neonatal section of the children's ward are expected to significantly enhance the care of prematurely born babies. The management team of Mother of Christ Specialist Hospital celebrated the donations with songs and dances, thanking God and offering prayers for the former Governor of Enugu State, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, affectionately known as Gburugburu.

The beneficiaries of the hospital payment by Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi expressed immense joy and heartfelt gratitude for his generosity. They shared that they had lost hope of ever settling their medical bills, but Ugwuanyi's intervention felt like a divine miracle. They thanked him profusely, praising his compassionate spirit and continuous support for the less fortunate. In their prayers, they asked for God's abundant blessings upon Ugwuanyi, hoping that he would be rewarded richly for his kindness and that he continues to find favor in all his endeavors.

Present at the event were several members of the hospital's management team, including Sr Maria Chinemerem Igwe, the Administrator, Sr Maria Ogochukwu Udemba, Head of the Medical Laboratory Department, Sr Maria Stellarina Egbengwu, Head of the Theatre Department, along with other staff members and patients who are beneficiaries of the donations.

During the celebration, FountainCare Reporters also discovered that Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has been quietly making donations to other hospitals, a philanthropic act that has largely gone unreported. Among these was a recent donation of food items to Holy Child Motherless Babies Home on June 21, 2024, continuing a tradition he has maintained for over two decades. It was said that hese gestures are a personal matter between him and God, hence done behind the camera. It has been Eleven Years since the Management of Mother Of Christ Specialist Hospital kept mute as instructed by Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, but they could no longer hold the joy. This revelation added to the patients' gratitude, knowing that his generosity extended far beyond their own experience, benefiting countless others in need.
