Enugu NANS Gears Up for Transition, Unveils Timeline, Guidelines for 2024 Elections

 

 The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee (JCC) Enugu has declared its readiness for a leadership transition, unveiling an electoral timeline and comprehensive guidelines for the upcoming 2024 NANS JCC election.

In an official statement, NANS JCC Enugu disclosed that the sale of nomination forms will commence on Saturday, July 13th, 2024. Interested candidates can purchase these forms until August 10th, 2024, either at the NANS JCC Enugu secretariat or online by contacting the Convention Planning Committee (CPC) Chairman at 08064652569 or the Secretary at 08039599566.

The election, slated for August 17th, 2024, aims to elect new leaders who will represent the interests of Nigerian students across the state. The electoral timeline and guidelines have been meticulously designed to ensure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.

Comr. Ejike Celestine Amaechi, Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, highlighted the significance of this transitional period. "We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining the integrity of our electoral process. We encourage all eligible students to participate and exercise their right to vote," he stated.

To bolster the credibility of the election, NANS JCC Enugu has reassured all stakeholders that stringent measures are in place to prevent disruptions or irregularities.

Eligibility criteria for aspirants include being a student with a valid registration number at any government-owned tertiary institution in Enugu State and being at least in their 300 Level for first degree students, unless there is proof of enrollment in a second degree.

Aspirants must submit several required documents, including a letter of admission, attestation letters from their head of department and dean of students, an affidavit affirming non-membership in any confraternity, security clearances from the Department of State Services (DSS) and Anti-Cult units, and a duly completed aspirant's form.

Comr. Ejike Celestine Amaechi reiterated the CPC’s dedication to a seamless transition and an uncompromised electoral process. He urged all eligible students to take part in the election, emphasizing the importance of their votes.
