While briefing press in his office, the State chairman and commandant of the military ex-servicemen, Dr. Emeka Igwesi (Assistant Commandant General) commended Governor Mbah for the remarkable milestones he had demonstrated just 12 months in office as the Executive Governor of Enugu State.
Dr. Igwesi stated; "The one year in office of Governor Mbah has been exceedingly remarkable. From the startline, Dr. Mbah showed that he had a clear thought of what he has come to do in Enugu State. Starting from when he was a mere independent aspirant for the office to when he became a candidate of his party, everything about him and what he said were factual, credible and promising"
"Immediately he was sworn into office, Gov Peter Mbah had no time to join issues with anybody, rather, he went headlong in implementing his ambitious manifesto, tackling all the key areas and this is evident in the high performance level and massive transformation spread across several sectors in the state" said Dr Igwesi.
He continued "His one year in office is remarkable in many areas, particularly in the area of security. Security is one area that is evaluated and assessed only in deep thoughts. One could wonder how bad Enugu would have been without Gov. Mbah's drastic measures and strategic actions. He assumed office and in few days made positive proclamation proscribing sit at Home, describing it as a sabotage to Igbo economy and existence. This was while South East States were yet to address it. It is right to say that others borrowed a leaf from Gov Mbah"
"We have seen him executing his manifesto on security; physical and digital measures. The security system in the state is working and we can boldly state that there is over 98% peace in the state"
"Presently, the governor of Enugu State has put plans in place to partner with the military ex- service men in Enugu State and this will mean well for the state. We use this opportunity to thank His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State for the successful hosting of Armed Forces Remembrance Day, 2024 in Enugu State. The military ex- servicemen wish you well in office" he said.
