In what can only be described as a transformative event, the inaugural 5-Day Skill Up and Empowerment Seminar held at Coal City University Enugu from April 2nd to April 6th left an indelible mark on the journey to youth empowerment in Nigeria.
The seminar, meticulously organized by the Youths Awakening and Development Initiative Nigeria (YADI), targeted the skill development and empowerment of youths. The comprehensive program covered four key areas: Graphic Design, Web Design, Fashion Design, and Forex Trading, hosting a total of 46 enthusiastic youths who benefited from this transformative journey.
Despite the intensive nature of the training, 21 participants demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment, successfully completing the preliminary training phase. Their accomplishment serves as a testament to their resilience and eagerness to learn.
The 21 successful trainees are now set to undergo a 3-month intensive training program, where they will delve deeper into the intricacies of each skill.
Following this, they will have the opportunity to engage in a two-month internship program, providing them with valuable real-world experience and further honing their skills.
Upon successful completion of the internship, the trainees will receive both material and financial support from YADI, enabling them to kickstart their careers and ventures. This holistic approach ensures a smooth transition into the professional world and empowers them to become self-reliant.
The program received a significant boost on its second day with the surprise visit of Former two-time Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Frank Nweke Jr. His presence served as a source of inspiration and motivation for all the trainees, adding immense value to their learning experience.
The seminar witnessed an overwhelming turnout of youths from across the region, all eager to learn, invest in themselves, and secure their financial future. The enthusiasm displayed by the participants underscored the urgent need for such empowerment initiatives in the community.
