Enugu Commissioner, Hon Pharm Chika Ugwuoke Lauds Gov Peter Mbah’s Development Strides, Calls for Support from Nsukka L.G.A


Led by the Secretary to the State Government and the state Commissioner for Labour and Employment, Honorable Pharm Chika Ugwuoke, the Enugu State Project Monitoring Team, embarked on a comprehensive tour of six project sites within Nsukka Local Government Council Today, Tuesday, 8th of May 2024. These projects, comprising smart schools and primary health care centers, stand as testament to the commitment of Gov Peter Mbah's administration towards infrastructural development within the region.


Leading the charge, the Commissioner for Works, Engr Gerald Otiji on behalf of the secretary to the state government, voiced commendation for contractors adhering meticulously to project specifications while offering criticism towards those found wanting in compliance.


Accompanying the team were esteemed dignitaries, government officials stakeholders, including Honorable Commissioner for Education, Prof Ndubueze Mbah, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Honorable Reuben Onyishi, and the Executive Secretary of the Economic Planning Commission, Nnanyelugo Dan Onyishi, among others.


Of particular note was the presence and vocal support of the local community, including key stakeholders and traditional rulers such as Dr. Dan Shere, former SSG of Enugu State, and Chief Vita Abba, former State Chairman of the PDP. Their attendance underscored the significance of these projects to the people of Nsukka and their unwavering support for Governor Mbah's initiatives.


Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Pharm Chika Ugwuoke, a native of Obukpa in Nsukka Local Government, emphasized the importance of integrity and honesty in project execution, echoing the values deeply ingrained in Nsukka's cultural fabric. He lauded Governor Mbah's leadership, transcending traditional sectoral boundaries, and stressed the necessity of stringent supervision to ensure project success, a lesson learned from past failures.


Expressing his commitment to Governor Mbah's vision, Commissioner Ugwuoke pledged to facilitate the dissemination of the government's message and actions throughout every corner of Nsukka, emphasizing increased grassroots engagement. His words resonated with the sentiments of the Chairman of the Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council, who offered prayers and gratitude for Governor Mbah's hands-on approach in overseeing project implementation.
