Enugu Citizens Urged to Participate in a Transformative Skill Up Artisans (SUPA) Program

Enugu State citizens have been called upon to actively participate in the Skill Up Artisans (SUPA) program, a transformative initiative launched by the Federal Government in collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund. The program aims to skill up existing artisans, train new ones, license, and empower up to 10 million Nigerians.

In a joint statement issued by the Commissioners for Labour and Employment, Hon Pharm Chika Ugwuoke, and his Human Capacity Development counterpart, Dr Malachy Agbo, concern was expressed over the low participation of Enugu citizens in the SUPA program. They urged the citizens to embrace government interventions and programs designed to empower the people, emphasizing the importance of actively engaging in such initiatives.

According to the statement, His Excellency Dr Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State, has directed that no citizen of the state should be left behind in the efforts to translate government initiatives into effective tools for poverty eradication. The commissioners expressed gratitude to Governor Mbah for consistently ensuring that the interests of Enugu State are protected, especially concerning empowerment and employment opportunities.

The statement also highlighted the urgency for Enugu citizens to apply for the SUPA program. The current batch of SUPA applicants will undergo screening next week, making it imperative for interested individuals to apply online immediately through www.supa.itf.gov.ng.

Enugu citizens are encouraged to seize this opportunity to enhance their skills, access training, and empower themselves through the SUPA program. By actively participating in this initiative, individuals can contribute to their own personal development as well as the overall socioeconomic growth of Enugu State.
