Former Nigerian Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar has played host to the Organizing Committee of Leadership Scorecard/Public Lecture which comes up in Abuja next month.
The Organizing Committee of the Public Lecture led by the Board Chairman of Leadership SCORECARD, Prof. Udenta O. Udenta had led his team to the residence of the former Nigerian leader in Abuja where he was briefed on the progress report so far ahead of the event.
The Leadership Scorecard/Public Lecture is being organised in honour of Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (Rtd) who ruled the country from 1998-1999 and handed over to President Olusegun Obasanjo as a civilian President.
With the theme, "Democracy in Africa: The Legacy of Abdulsalami Abubakar" the event will have President Bola Tinubu as the Chief Guest of Honour, President Paul Kagame of Rwanda as Invited Special Guest of Honour, Former President of the Senate, His Excellency, Sen. Bukola Saraki as chairman of the occasion and Prof. Plo Lumumba as Keynote Speaker.
The event comes up 29th May, 2024 at NAF Conference Centre Abuja at 2pm.
According to Prof. Udenta, Leadership Scorecard vision is to be pacesetter in leadership performance monitoring and evaluation, with the mission to ensure that leaders are accountable for their roles in governance on the continents.
"Leadership Scorecard has traversed both within and outside Nigeria, even far away Europe with Leadership SCORECARD Magazine as the master stroke, engaging Ambassadors, development icons and diplomats of many nations, unlocking many potentials and opportunities as a media tourist and development knowledge facilitator in Africa", he said in a release.

Abdulsalami Abubakar GCFR, Keynote address on Heroes of Democracy and their Roles, Reflections on President Bola Tinubu’s One Year in Office, Awards Presentation to Distinguished Personalities and the Unveiling of Special Edition of Leadership Scorecard magazine in Honour of Abdulsalami Abubakar, GCFR.
May 29th, 2024, will mark the Silver Jubilee (25 years) after the advent of the uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria since 1999, midwifed by His Excellency, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, GCFR.
Eminent Nigerians, Statesmen and outstanding personalities of high reputes shall be honored at the event as Heroes and Icons of Democracy in Nigeria, in recognition of their roles towards the sustenance of Peace and Democracy in Nigeria and Africa at large.
