In a recent article penned by Calistus Onyekachukwu Onyia, the spotlight shines on Senator Engr. Osita Ngwu, representing Enugu West in Nigeria's National Assembly, hailed as "Abia ike" (the Strong Drum). Onyia's effusive praise lauds Ngwu for bringing hope, vision, and progress to his constituency.
"Thank God, Enugu West has a great and influencial man as Senator. Sen. Osita Ngwu has brought about immense hope to his people and given them a clear vision of reality and what future should be.
Sen. Osita Ngwu is a resourceful, industrious and promising citizen whose great drum is beating louder."Abia ike na-eti. Chinua Achebe in his ideological novel "Things fall Apart", 1958, page 35, paragraph B, wrote, "The drum were still beating, persistent and unchanging". That sound was no longer a separate thing from the living senatorial zone of Enugu West. It was like a pulsation of its heart, it throbbed in the air, in the Sunshine, and even in the trees, and filled the zone with excitement. This is an irrefutable statement which encapsulates the essence, character, vision and ardour of this noble and outstanding individual. He has revivified and consumed the whole Enugu West senatorial zone and its constituents with inordinate ecstacy, enthusiasm and peace.
Significantly, the dauntless and sophisticated man has brought about an axiomatic and stable orderliness in the zone. Sirach 10:1 says, "A wise leader will educate his people and the government will be orderly. Just in few months, he has revitalized the education system. I must confess, this proficient and remarkable man has proffered scholarships to over 15 students to study at College of Agriculture Isiagu, Ebonyi state.
Annually, he sponsors free lessons, gives awards and scholarships to scholars to advance their learning continium.
Furthermore, Sen. Ngwu is a leader who is passionate about the well-being and edification of the youth. He has trained large number of youths in multifarious skills to expand and exponentially empower and equip them with strategic and pragmatic skills to be able to excel in life. Hundreds of Jamb Candidates have had their fees sorted out under the auspices of this auspicious leader.
According to Leroy Eims, "A leader is one who sees more than others see, who sees farther than others see, and who sees before others do". An ideal description of a futuristic, optimistic and visionary leader as Senator Osita Ngwu. Consequently, this insightful and incredible man has attracted things to Enugu West. His contemporaneous and monumental accounts and details of his cognitive strength is second to none.
John Maxwell opined, "A leader is the one who knows the way, shows the way and goes the way". This statement is juxtaposed to his achievements and efforts. He knows the way to better, facilitate and enhance his constituency. He has already stepped ahead and making rectifications which is considerably indisputable. He is an ardent leader who is consistently sensitive and conscious about the plight and welfare of his people. He has conscientized and made the improvement of standard of living of his people his top priority.
Most importantly, Albert Einstein specified, "Only a life lived in the service of others is worth living. Sen. Osita Ngwu emanates confidence, excellence, proactivity and service to his people. He is a great philanthropist. He has shown his people unconditional love.
Stephen Covey in his thought-provoking book, the seven (7) habits of highly effective people stated, "When we live the primary laws of love, we encourage others to do so". When we truly love others without condition, without strings, we help them feel secured, validated and safe. Their natural growth process is encouraged. Sen. Ngwu's love and effort are not compartmentalized nor biased but are general. We are moving forward.
Finally, Sen Osita Ngwu's efforts are unrivaled and we appreciate his profound, revolutionary and unorthodox style of leadership. We solemnly ask God to fortify and amplify his faith, desire and inspire him to aspire tremendously.
My people, that great drum is still beating and has filled everyone in the zone and beyond with excitement which transcends our imagination.
