The Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, renowned for its unwavering dedication to providing essential surgical care, marked another milestone on Friday, February 16th, 2024, as it released the list of beneficiaries in the most recent series of critical surgical interventions. Founded and sponsored by the former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the programme's commitment to improving the health and well-being of Enugu residents remained steadfast as it offered hope and relief to five individuals facing various medical challenges.

While responding to FountainCare Reporters, the beneficiaries and their families expressed their profound joy, appreciating the compassionate gesture of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, while thanking His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his unwavering commitment to the health needs of the people of Enugu State.

Chidindu Muoneke (1 year 6 months), Ubollo-etiti - Left Hydrocoele of the cord

Chidindu Muoneke, a young child of just 1 year 6 months, underwent corrective surgery for a Left Hydrocoele of the cord. The successful procedure brought relief to the child and their family, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for the timely intervention provided by the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme.

Goodluck Nwachukwu, Ihe ndi Agu - Left inguinoscrotal hernia

In response to the successful surgical interventions, the Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, Dr. George Ajogwu, expressed gratitude and appreciation to all beneficiaries for their trust and cooperation. He reiterated the programme's commitment to providing accessible and high-quality healthcare services to all residents of Enugu State, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and community support in achieving this noble goal. 

He commended the efforts of the Former Governor of Enugu State His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi whom he addressed as a Messiah, appreciating his humanitarian gesture and love for the people of Enugu State which spurred him to sustaining the Healthcare Programme even after leaving office, a gesture which Dr. Ajogwu described as his deep and sincere support to His Excellency, Barr. Peter Mbah's led administration and his Deputy, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai, for their good governance which is very significant and has gained them the admiration of the people of Enugu State.

Dr. Ajogwu also commended the tireless efforts of the medical team and reaffirmed the programme's unwavering dedication to improving the health and well-being of Enugu's citizens.
