INNOVATION: Enugu State Gov't Commits to Economic Boost Through Local Manufacturing Collaboration


In a strategic step to enhance the local economy, the Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, Engr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, announced a partnership with local palm oil machine manufacturers in Coal Camp Enugu.

During a recent site visit, Engr. Ezeh emphasized the State Government's commitment to providing scientific and technical support to these artisans. The aim is to empower them to produce more machines that can meet the growing demands of palm oil producers in the state and surrounding areas.

Addressing the need for embracing Science and Technology, Engr. Ezeh urged farmers and palm oil producers to adopt improved machinery for the production of high-quality palm oil, emphasizing the potential benefits in efficiency and output.

During machinery inspections, the Chairman of the manufacturing group expressed a desire for the Ministry to collaborate with them and provide technical support. He highlighted the capability of locally-made machines, stating that they perform comparably to foreign counterparts in the production process.

In response, he appealed to Commissioner Ezeh to envision the potential for expanded machine production with support from the State Government.

The site visit included a demonstration and testing of the machines, allowing the Honourable Commissioner and his team to assess their capacity. This collaboration marks a crucial step towards fostering local manufacturing and boosting the economic landscape of Enugu State.
