HUMANITY-2024-08: Ugwuanyi's Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme Saves Two Women from Uterine Fibroid, Three Others with Different Surgical Cases


Persisting in his unwavering commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of the people of Enugu State, the former Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has once again demonstrated his dedication through his Humanitarian Healthcare Initiative, otherwise known as 'the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme'.

In the 8th batch of their January free surgical interventions, conducted from Sunday, the 21st of January 2024, to Monday, the 22nd of January 2024, at Chief Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital Edem Road, Nsukka, stands as a testament to Ugwuanyi's ongoing efforts to make quality healthcare accessible to all. This recent initiative has proven instrumental in saving the lives of five individuals facing various surgical challenges, with a notable focus on addressing Uterine Fibroid, particularly in two women. The impact of this program extends far beyond medical interventions, alleviating the financial burdens associated with these critical surgeries and fostering a healthier, more resilient Enugu community.

The transformative impact of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme continues to resonate as the latest beneficiaries of the 8th batch in January 2024 share their heartfelt appreciation. Funded by the visionary founder, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, this initiative has become a beacon of hope, alleviating the health needs of individuals and rescuing them from the burdens of financial constraints. 

In this testimonial collection, Mrs. Obioma Ezugwu, Ogbu Nnenna, Mr. Osita Igwu, young Ajogwu Chukwudi, and Nnadi Edith Chimuanya expressed their sincere gratitude for the life-changing interventions provided by the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme. Their stories reflect not only the program's commitment to healthcare but also the expertise and humility of the medical team that conducted these transformative surgeries.

Mrs. Obioma Ezugwu expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for the transformative impact of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme. Having undergone a myomectomy to address uterine fibroids, she commends the medical team's expertise and humility during the procedure. The financial burden lifted, Mrs. Ezugwu (07065426337) from Orba in Udenu Local Government Area acknowledges the program's vital role in her restored health and well-being.

Ogbu Nnenna (08147856334), another beneficiary from Orba in Udenu Local Government Area, extends heartfelt appreciation to the program's management. Grateful for the myomectomy that corrected her uterine fibroid, she commends the medical team for their skill and compassion. According to  Nnenna, the program's intervention not only addressed her health needs, but also alleviated the financial strain on her and her family.

Mr. Osita Igwu, hailing from Alor-agu in Igbo-eze South Local Government Council, conveys sincere thanks to His Excellency, Ugwuanyi, for the Free Surgery Programme (08036036501). Having undergone herniorrhaphy to correct his left inguinal hernia, Mr. Igwu's gratitude extends to the dedicated medical team for their expertise and humility throughout the surgical intervention.

The family of Ajogwu Chukwudi, a 5-year-old from Umuoka Abbi (08163090240) also thanked His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme. With the correction of a left inguinal hernia and associated Hydrocoele, Chukwudi's parents appreciate the program's impact on their child's health. They commended the medical team for their skill and compassionate care during this crucial intervention.

Grateful for the lumpectomy that removed her right breast lump,  Nnadi Edith Chimuanya (08104434516), from Ibagwa, extends heartfelt thanks to the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, Chimuanya acknowledges the program's role in her health journey. She commends the medical team for their expertise and humility, emphasizing the profound impact on her well-being.

Dr. George Ajogwu, the dedicated Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, extends his heartfelt commendation to the former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his unwavering commitment to sustaining the invaluable healthcare initiative. Dr. Ajogwu emphasizes the significance of this expansion, highlighting the recent commencement of the medical outreach in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area last week. "this strategic move is a testament to Ugwuanyi's foresight and dedication to addressing healthcare needs comprehensively, reaching even the remote areas of Enugu State.
