Leader and Son, His Excellency, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai, the Deputy Governor, Enugu State yesterday, joined other well-meaning sons and daughters of Umurusi-Ukehe for the Grand Home Coming and Thanksgiving Service of Maj. Gen Victor Okwudili Ezugwu (Rtd), Ochiagha of Umurusi-Ukehe. He represented His Excellency Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah at the event.
During his 38 years of selfless service in the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Ezugwu became famous for the instrumental role he played in the manufacture of Nigeria’s first indigenous Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicle, which was named after him by the Nigerian Army as "EZUGWU MRAP".
Earlier this year, he also received an award for his ‘Courage, Commitment and Patriotism’ by Security Watch Africa Initiatives in The Gambia, alongside among many other accomplishments.
I congratulate Maj. Gen. Ezugwu for all his milestone achievements and I thank God for protecting and preserving him throughout his successful career in the army.
