Enugu State Ministry of Culture and Tourism Flags Off 2023 Enugu Carnival


The city of Enugu came alive with a burst of colors as the Enugu State Ministry of Culture and Tourism kicked off the much-anticipated 5-day Enugu State Carnival. The event, a celebration of diverse cultures, promises a spectacular display of traditions, music, and art.


The streets of Enugu witnessed a dazzling array of bright and colorful costumes during the street parades, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Africa, Brazil, and the Caribbean. The costumes, adorned with masks, feathers, and other decorative items, paid homage to the influences of African slaves on these diverse cultures.

Tuesday, December 19 by 10am, the enchantment of the Enugu State Carnival will continue with the resonating beats of Ogene Cultural Music and a convergence of masquerades at Okpara Square in Enugu. This cultural showcase promises to immerse attendees in the rich traditional music and captivating performances of the masquerades. Following this, on Wednesday, December 20th, the Grand Finale will take center stage, heralding the much-anticipated return of the popular "Road Block" Show. This finale will feature a stellar lineup of top musicians, including the charismatic Flavour, Nigga Raw, Run town, Anyi Dons, Ugochi, Jeriq, Slow Dogg and a host of other artists and comedians who will deliver electrifying live performances.
