Justice Inyang Ekwo, presiding over the case, delivered a powerful judgment on Monday, the 6th of November, 2023. The court's decision was rooted in the presentation of compelling evidence, which firmly established Governor Mbah's legitimate participation in the NYSC program. This evidence included the issuance of a certificate of completion by the NYSC, which had been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the last governorship election.

The judge did not mince words in condemning the NYSC's claims that they had not issued the certificate in question. Justice Ekwo firmly declared that the NYSC had misrepresented the facts and strongly criticized their handling of the case. The NYSC's inability to produce essential files containing information about Governor Mbah's participation was deemed negligent and careless by the court.

Consequently, the Federal High Court has issued a restraining order against the NYSC, preventing them from further denying Governor Mbah's possession of the NYSC certificate. Furthermore, the court has awarded a substantial sum of N5 million in damages to Governor Mbah. This judgment represents a pivotal moment in the ongoing dispute, underscoring the importance of upholding the integrity of the National Youth Service Corps and safeguarding the rights of its program graduates.
