Group commends Gov Mbah on Anioma, Ajogwu’s appointments as SPA, Commissioner

The Association of former Local Government Development Centre Chairmen in Enugu State has commended the state governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, over the appointments of their members as Special Adviser on Political Matters, and Commissioner for Special Duties, saying the decision was based on their competencies, and the values they would add to the development of the state.

The group, led by its leader and former chairman of Oji River South Development Area, Barr. Emeka Nweze, during a courtesy visit to Hon. Frank Anioma, Special Adviser on Political Matters, at his Enugu Government House Office, Wednesday, said the governor had done exceedingly well since assumption of office in May, assuring continuous mobilisation of support for government’s programmes and policies in Enugu and environs.

While expressing optimism that Mbah would bring the much desired change in the state with the pace of transformation the people were witnessing, the former chairman added that their visit was one of commendation and solidarity for the good works initiated by the administration.

“We came for solidarity visit and to encourage you for the good work you are doing. We are pledging support for this government because we are glad with the pace of development initiatives going on here.

“We appreciate the governor for the wise decision of appointing someone with the requisite experience for the job. Your appointments as Special Adviser on Political Matters  and that of Hon. Sunday Ajogwu as commissioner for Special Duties are well thought out because both of you possess the experiences, character, charisma and competencies for the job,” Nweze added.

On his part, Hon. Tony Nwagbo, former chairman from Udenu Development Area, described Anioma’s appointment as a round peg in a round hole, adding that the decision could have been inspired by the qualities and experiences emboldened by him.

Speaking on behalf of Enugu East zone, Hon. Gab Onuh, said the association was confident on the ability and determination of the administration to deliver on the mandate of the people.

“The governor has come to work and deliver, and we will support him in all respects,” he added.

Reacting to the courtesy visit, the Special Adviser expressed delight over the massive support the administration had been enjoying in the past four months among the stakeholders and the general public, saying such overwhelming support was evidence of credible performance and general acceptance rating of the government.

He said the government was well-prepared to reposition the state in areas of economy, infrastructure, technology, agriculture and agro-allied industrialisation, modern healthcare system and education.

Anioma further noted that Mbah was a consummate private investor and financial professional who had come with his wealth of experience to change the narratives in the state, adding that the evidence of his good governance had already begun to trickle in.

According to him, the promise to provide water in Enugu within 180 days of the governor’s administration had already become a reality as water is now flowing across different areas in the metropolis.

He pointed at the ongoing recruitment of teachers, agricultural revolution enabled by the attractive market and environment provided by the government, and the deliberate effort at peace building across the state by the administration.

The special adviser assured that the government would not let the people down even as he called for more support from the citizens.
