The Enugu State Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development has announced the discovery of an unknown child who endured a tragic hit-and-run incident, resulting in severe injuries and a loss of memory. This remarkable discovery was made by the dedicated staff at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) in Ituku-Ozalla, Enugu State.

The Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih, expressed the Ministry's deep concern for the child's welfare. She stated, "We are using this medium to appeal to the general public to assist the Ministry in any way possible to obtain information that could help us locate and reunite this child with their family."

The child, who remains unidentified due to the trauma-induced memory loss, has been under the careful medical care of UNTH since his discovery. According to Hon. Mrs. Enih, "Due to memory loss as a result of the incident, the child cannot recall their name or identify their family." This situation underscores the urgency of finding the child's relatives and reuniting them.

Hon. Mrs. Enih expressed gratitude to the Management of UNTH for their compassionate response, saying, "Our special appreciation goes to the Management of UNTH for their swift action in rescuing and caring for the child during their time in custody. They generously waived the hospital fees as a gesture of goodwill."

To aid in the process of reuniting this lost child with their family, anyone with information regarding the child's identity or family is urged to come forward. If you have any information, please report to the Ministry of Gender Affairs and Social Development or visit UNTH Ituku-Ozalla, Enugu.

Let us join hands as a community to bring comfort and closure to this lost child and their family. Together, we can make a difference in their lives and ensure a brighter future.
