Gov. Peter Mbah's Innovative Solution Overcomes Traffic Light Vandals, As Enugu Metropolis Illuminates with Ultra-Modern Traffic Light Fittings

In line with one of the commitments of Dr. Peter Mbah's leadership in the realm of urban revitalization and progress as contained in his manifesto, Enugu metropolis has undergone a transformation, sporting a fresh appearance as contemporary traffic light fixtures and installations adorn all the principal intersections.

The Enugu State Rural Electrification Board, responsible for maintaining traffic light systems across the state, faced setbacks three years ago when a significant portion of the installations was damaged by the well-known ENDSARS protesters.

Subsequently, the facilities endured a series of assaults from miscreants who consistently pilfered vital components, causing disruptions and confusion at road junctions. These actions often lead to preventable road accidents and loss of life.

However, the encouraging update at present is that the Board is implementing state-of-the-art wireless traffic light control technologies. These systems centralize crucial components at the top, thwarting the efforts of dishonest individuals who would otherwise deplete ground-level resources.

"A heartfelt commendation goes to the esteemed Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah for swiftly reinstating order and seamless traffic circulation within Enugu metropolis. Governor Peter Mbah's groundbreaking innovations in the realm of traffic lights have effectively thwarted attempts by vandals to interfere with these systems once more. I hereby urge the general public, especially tricycle riders and minibus drivers, to conscientiously adhere to traffic light signals. This collaboration is not only vital in supporting the governor's commendable efforts but also in diminishing the occurrence of accidents at various intersections across the city" said Engr. Onyema Odoh, the General Manager, Enugu State Rural Electrification Board.
