The Enugu State Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs and Social Development is abuzz with jubilation as they join in celebrating the resounding victory of His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State, at the Enugu State Election Petitions Tribunal.
In a statement released by the Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih, the Ministry expressed profound joy and heartfelt congratulations to Governor Peter Mbah on his triumph at the Tribunal. Hon. Enih exclaimed, "It is the Almighty God at Work."
The Enugu Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal delivered a decisive verdict, dismissing the certificate forgery allegations brought forth by both the Labour Party (LP) and the People's Redemption Party (PRP). The Tribunal firmly ruled that Governor Peter Mbah was indeed duly elected by a majority of votes cast in the election.
Of particular significance was the dismissal of the allegation by Edeoga of the LP that Governor Peter Mbah's NYSC discharge certificate was forged. The Tribunal held that Dr. Peter Mbah did not need to submit his NYSC certificate to INEC in aid of his qualification to contest for the office of governor since he was already qualified without it. Furthermore, the Tribunal rejected Edeoga's witnesses, affirming that the LP governorship candidate failed to present any admissible evidence to substantiate the claim that Mbah's certificate was forged.
Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih summed up the Ministry's elation, stating, "We cannot hide our joy; it has ended in praise." This resounding victory at the Tribunal marks a significant milestone for Governor Peter Mbah and the people of Enugu State, ensuring the continuity of his leadership and commitment to the welfare of children, gender equality, and social development in the state.
