Breaking! Enugu State Government seeks Strategic Alliance with Lantana College of Hospitality, Ushering in a New Era of Women Empowerment

In a stride aimed towards empowering women and fostering economic growth in Enugu State, the State's Commissioner for Labour and Employment Pharm Chika Ugwuoke, embarked on a pivotal visit to Lantana College of Hospitality. The purpose of this visit was to discuss potential collaborations in skills development focusing on equipping Enugu State women with essential hospitality skills for employment and wealth creation.This strategic move is aligned with the state's agenda to enhance citizens' capabilities, particularly women, to drive female entrepreneurship in line with the inclusive economic development objective of His Excellency Barr Peter Mbah.

The commissioner was visibly impressed with the capacity and resources available at Lantana College. In a statement, he remarked, "The facilities here at Lantana College are world-class. They are well-suited to provide our women with the practical skills they need to excel in the hospitality industry."


"Our intention is to harness the talents of graduates from this institution to support the governor's upcoming revitalization project for the Presidential Hotel, Nike Lake, and meet the growing demands of the booming hospitality sector in Enugu. We want to be ready with the requisite skills as more investors troop in by supplying  well-trained personnel. This initiative aims to contribute significantly to job creation for the people of Enugu, with a particular focus on empowering women in our community" Hon. Ugwuoke reaffirmed.

Enugu State, known for its vibrant culture and natural beauty, has been making waves in recent times as a destination for investments and economic opportunities. Under the leadership of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the state has witnessed a surge in investment interest across various sectors. This has led to a deliberate effort by the Enugu State government to empower its citizens, with a particular focus on women, who are seen as key drivers of the state's future growth.

One of the highlights of the visit was the comprehensive inspection of Lantana College's state-of-the-art facilities. The Honourable  was given a guided tour of the campus, which included well-equipped classrooms, modern kitchens, laundry training centre,mock hotel rooms, and a fully operational restaurant. The college's commitment to providing a real-world learning experience was evident in the impressive facilities at its disposal.

The commissioner thanked the management of the institution for their openness to work with the current administration and promised to ensure speedy implementation of the program for Enugu women.
