Paving the Way for Agricultural Empowerment in Enugu State, WOSCONET Partners Enugu State, NGOs, Organizes Free Training for Enugu Farmers and Aspiring Agriculturists

In a concerted effort towards poverty eradication and agricultural advancement, the Women Support Women Community Network (WOSCONET) in partnership with the Enugu State Voluntary Agro Training and Consultancy Initiative (ENSVATCI) successfully conducted a one-day workshop focused on agro-based skills training. Held in line with the Enugu State Government's commitment to uplift local communities, this event aimed to equip Enugu farmers and aspiring agriculturists with essential knowledge for a brighter and more sustainable future.

The workshop, which attracted participants from various corners of Enugu State, was inaugurated by the founder of Women Support Women Community Network, Ambassador Mrs. Amaka Nweke JP. Amb. Nweke underscored the training's significance in empowering women, youths, and children within the agricultural sector. She expressed her gratitude to Enugu State Governor Barr. Peter Mbah for his unwavering dedication to poverty eradication efforts in the state.

Participants enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to enhance their agro skills in fishery, poultry, crop production, snail farming, mushroom farming, and livestock feed production, labelling the workshop as the most comprehensive and practical training in recent times within the South East region. Through a series of informative sessions and interactive discussions, attendees were exposed to a wide array of agro-based techniques, ensuring they are better prepared to navigate the challenges of modern farming.

As the workshop drew to a close, participants were grouped into smaller units, setting the stage for upcoming practical training sessions scheduled to take place on local farms within the coming week. The collaborative efforts between WOSCONET, the Enugu State Government, and ENSVATCI serve as a significant milestone in bolstering the capabilities of local farmers, thus contributing to the growth of an agro-based economy.

This initiative is poised to extend far beyond the confines of the training room, with its impact predicted to reverberate throughout the agricultural landscape and broader economy of Enugu State. As participants gear up to put their newly acquired skills into practice, the collaborative spirit showcased in this endeavor promises a brighter future for Enugu's farming community and the state at large.
