Enugu State Ministry of Transport Apprehends Tricycle Taskforce Team Allegedly Parading with Fake I.D Cards, Educates the General Public on Legitimate Procedures

The Enugu State Ministry of Transport has brought to light an unsettling issue concerning an alleged illegitimate tricycle taskforce team. This team has been accused of exploiting unsuspecting citizens while purportedly enforcing ticket regulations.

Two individuals, namely; Nneji Patrick and Maxwell Nkau, have been apprehended by the Enugu State Ministry of Transport on charges of parading counterfeit identification cards. These cards falsely portrayed them as members of the taskforce team responsible for enforcing the union's regulations on tricycle riders, locally referred to as "Keke Napep."

Responding to inquiries from the press, Hon. Obi Ozor, the Enugu State Commissioner for Transport, strongly warned the individuals involved in this unlawful activity. He emphasized that if caught engaging in similar acts in the future, they will face arrest and legal consequences. Despite the gravity of their actions, Hon. Ozor chose to extend clemency by ordering their release.

This incident has raised concerns among residents about the authenticity of individuals claiming to be part of official regulatory bodies. The Enugu State Ministry of Transport has taken this opportunity to educate the general public about the proper procedures and legitimate identification that genuine taskforce team members should possess.

Citizens are advised to remain vigilant and cautious when interacting with individuals claiming to enforce regulations, ensuring that they request valid identification and confirm their legitimacy with appropriate authorities. The Enugu State Ministry of Transport is committed to upholding the safety and rights of its citizens and maintaining the integrity of its regulatory processes.
