In a step towards gender inclusivity, Amb. Onyinye Mamah, the Executive Director of Heroine Women Foundation (HEWOF) and Women Support Women (WOSUWO), has extended heartfelt congratulations to Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu, the Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly. The Speaker's decision to appoint two accomplished female lawmakers as Committee Chairmen is being celebrated as a progressive move.
Rt. Hon. Jane Chinwendu Eneh has been selected to lead the House Committee on Gender Affairs, while Hon. Obiajulu Princess Ugwu has been appointed as the House Committee Chairman on Water Resources. These appointments signify the commitment of the Eight Assembly to promoting gender sensitivity in its operations, aligning with the vision set forth by the State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
Amb. Onyinye Mamah also took the opportunity to call upon Governor Mbah to further embrace gender diversity by appointing more women as Special Advisers, a move that would not only reflect inclusivity but also enable a broader range of perspectives in governance.
HEWOF and WOSUWO express their confidence that the leadership of Eneh and Ugwu in their respective committee roles will play a pivotal role in realizing the state's vision of ensuring accessible water resources for the citizens of Enugu State. Once again, their warm congratulations are extended to all those involved in these significant appointments.
