As the saying goes, when a man who is determined, who knows what he want and where he's going takes a step and move, he moves with a speed of thought, accomplishing a lot along the way, setting the standard.
Comparatively, with the recent appointment and announcement of the five (5) Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) on Constituency Matters for the five new constituency offices in all the five local governments of Enugu West by the senator representing Enugu West in the Senate, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu, it's evidential clear that the Senator is determined, prepared and know where he's going, what his people want and how to accomplish them. The Senator no doubt, is working his words, keeping to his promises of changing the narrative in Enugu West, in line with the social contract he had with his people before his election.
Interestingly but though as expected, considering the fact that it has not been so in the annals of Enugu West political history, the initiative was commended and applauded by all the men and women of good conscience of Enugu West, party or political loyalty notwithstanding. The people equally applauded the calibre of people appointed to man the offices as contact persons. Men of implacable character. Men with deep knowledge, understanding and love of their people. Men like Hon. James Aja, for Aninri LGA, Hon. Emeka Joe Ude, for Awgu LGA, Evangelist Chidiebere Ezinwa (Commodore), for Ezeagu LGA, Hon. Ifeanyi Chibueze, for Oji River LGA, and Ozo Uche Alor, Okengwu for Udi LGA. All square peg in a square hole. Kudos!
These appointments cum the constituency offices is purely for the optimization of service delivery up to the grassroots of Enugu West senatorial district. The offices and the SSAs are there for all inquiries, information, requests and complaints by the people to their Senator. Also, worthy to note is that these offices will be open for all the five (5) working days of the week. And with this development, it's as good as saying that the Senate in Abuja or a mini one has been brought down to the people of Enugu West in their respective local governments with easy and unfettered access to their Senator. For instance, a man or woman from Ndeabo or Okpanku in Aninri LGA, a man or woman from Ugweme or Amoli in Awgu LGA, a man or woman from Agba Umana or Obinofia in Ezeagu LGA, a man or woman from Awlaw or Achiagu in Oji River LGA, or a man or woman from Nachi or Egede in Udi LGA that wants to meet with his or her Senator, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu, for inquiry, information or request whatsoever, does not need anymore to travel all the way to Abuja to do that. No! All he or she need now is just to move to this constituency office in his or her local government and to do that with an assurance of timely attention and response from the Senator without any iota of discrimination. Ndi Enugu West, rejoice, Senate has come down to us. Abuja is here! What we look for in Sokoto is now in Shokoto.
Arguably, today in the entire South East, with our focused, young, pragmatic, energetic and people oriented Senator, Enugu West is taking a lead and setting an example for others to follow. Enugu west can never go dim. Our light can never go dim. Soon, the first or you call it the maiden edition of Enugu West Town Hall meeting will be coming up. Wait for it, and many more also are in the offing. Indeed, Senator Osita Ngwu is a trailblazer, setting the pace and changing the narrative in all front. We are in safe hands. Greater Enugu West is a sure bet with Abia ike n'eti.
