As the 2022/2023 academic session comes to a close, Hon. Jane Eneh has fulfilled her promise by covering the expenses of tuition fees, sports fees, examination fees, and development fees for these deserving students.
Hon. Jane Eneh initiated the JANE CARES SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME in 2019 when she assumed office as the representative of Awgu North state constituency. The scholarship scheme, facilitated through her foundation, aims to support the educational aspirations of her constituents. The program encompasses various initiatives, including the payment of tuition fees for indigent students every term, the sponsorship of Junior Secondary School Examination Fees for JSS 3 students, adult literacy education programs for fathers, mothers, and youths, bursaries for indigent students in tertiary institutions, sponsorship of welfare packages for widows, empowerment packages for youths and widows, and support for skill acquisition training.
Since its inception, the JANE CARES SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME has witnessed significant success, with the number of beneficiaries progressively increasing. For the secondary school category, the selected students have been benefitting from the scheme since their JSS1 class and will continue to receive support until their SS1 class. Additionally, the scheme covered the registration fees for the students' Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), popularly known as Junior WAEC, in 2022.
