The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Enugu State Chapter, under the leadership of Comr. Prisca Okeke, has taken a strong stance against social vices by joining forces with the Nigeria Police Force, Anti-Cult Unit, and a volunteer Anti-Cult movement. Together, they conducted a campaign to combat cultism, drug abuse, rape, illegal possession of firearms, and violence in our society. The event, known as the "Match Against Cultism and Social Vices," was held on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
The newly elected Chairman of NANS Enugu State Axis, Comr. Prisca Okeke, rallied students from various campuses across the state to participate in the march.
In her address, she passionately advised the youths and students to refrain from engaging in social vices that could potentially ruin their future. Instead, she urged them to focus on their studies and report any instances of cultism or drug abuse to the Anti-Cult Unit in Enugu State.
Comr. Okeke also emphasized the importance of partnering with security departments and the police to raise awareness and educate people about the dangers of cultism. She pledged to continue fostering this partnership to sensitize the community against these social vices.
Comr. Prisca Okeke further announced the organization's intention to commence a Campus Tour, specifically aimed at campaigning against cultism and other social vices. Recognizing that the student community hosts a larger percentage of individuals vulnerable to antisocial behavior, she highlighted the significance of reaching out to students directly.
The collaboration between NANS Enugu State Chapter, the Nigeria Police Force, and the volunteer Anti-Cult movement demonstrates a united front against cultism and social vices. This joint effort aims to create a safer and more secure environment for the students and the society at large.
With initiatives like the "Match Against Cultism and Social Vices" and the upcoming Campus Tour, NANS Enugu State Chapter, under the leadership of Comr. Prisca Okeke, continues to play an active role in combating social vices and promoting a positive future for Nigerian students.
