The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Enugu state chapter has appointed Hon. Sydney Edeh as its new chairman. This decision was made at a meeting held by the association to elect new officials to lead its activities in the state.
Hon. Sydney Edeh, who previously served as the Chairman of Nkanu East local government area, emerged as the new chairman of ALGON Enugu state chapter. His appointment comes with high expectations of bringing effective service delivery and positive change to the 17 local government council areas within the state.
Joining him in the executive leadership are Hon. Chukwudi Nnadozie, the Chairman of Ụzọ-ụwani LGA, who has been appointed as the state ALGON Deputy Chairman, and the Chairman of Awgu LGA, who has assumed the role of Secretary General of ALGON Enugu State.
Hon. Sydney Edeh takes over the position from Solomon Izuchukwu Onah, the former Chairman of Udenu Council. The new chairman is determined to run a smooth administration that sets a standard for effective service delivery across the local government council areas in Enugu state. One of his primary objectives is to reposition the association and expedite local government development, thereby altering the perception that the people of Enugu have regarding the performance of various council chairmen.
