Breaking! Gov Mbah Receives a Delegation from Nigeria Electrification Project/African Development Bank (NEP/AfDB) on the Deployment of Productive Use Appliances and Equipment (PUE).

In a significant step towards enhancing energy access and reducing food losses in rural communities, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State welcomed a delegation from the Nigeria Electrification Project/African Development Bank (NEP/AfDB) to discuss the deployment of Productive Use Appliances and Equipment (PUE). The delegation, led by Engr Michael Nwatu, Amb. Larry Edeh, Dr. Chris Edeh, and Mary Egbo, held a fruitful meeting with the governor at his office today.

The NEP/AfDB delegation expressed their commitment to supporting Enugu State in its efforts to improve access to energy in rural areas and tackle the challenge of food losses. They emphasized the importance of leveraging productive use appliances and equipment to transform agricultural processes, enhance productivity, and ultimately uplift the livelihoods of the rural population.

 Access to reliable energy is crucial for the socio-economic advancement of  rural communities. It not only enhances productivity and income generation but also strengthens agricultural sector. 

Gov Mbah was delighted to welcome the NEP/AfDB delegation and look forward to working together towards the deployment of productive use appliances and equipment.

A bottom-up approach, involving the community members in decision-making processes and ensuring their ownership of the project will guarantee its sustainability and long-term impact.

By providing access to energy in rural areas, there will be improved efficiency of food processing, preservation, and storage. This will significantly contribute to reducing food losses, enhancing food security, and boosting the incomes of farmers in Enugu State.
