Town Crier Initiative Launches "Rewards for Excellence" Projects on International Literacy Day 2023, Open For Partnership

Town Crier Initiative, a prominent civil society organization dedicated to promoting literacy and education as one of it's core values , has announced its International Literacy Day 2023 Projects, themed "Rewards for Excellence." The initiative aims to address the persistent challenges of literacy in a world undergoing transition while building the foundation for sustainable and peaceful societies.

Since its inception in 1967, International Literacy Day has served as a global reminder of the significance of literacy as a fundamental human right and a driver of social progress. The annual event has played a pivotal role in advancing the literacy agenda and fostering a more literate and sustainable society worldwide.

Despite considerable strides made in literacy efforts, the staggering figure of 763 million young people and adults lacking basic literacy skills in 2020 underscores the pressing need for continued action.
