JUNE 12: Enugu Lawmaker, Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh Calls on Constituents to Support Gov. Peters Mbah’s Administration in Building a Peaceful and Prosperous Enugu State

The immediate past Chief Whip of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member-Elect for Awgu North Constituency, Hon. Mrs Jane Chinwe Eneh, has called on constituents and Ndi Enugu in general to support Gov. Peter Mbah's administration for accelerated development and fruitful dividend of democracy in the state.

Hon. Mrs Jane Eneh made this call in a statement made available to the newsmen in Enugu on Monday, the 12th of June as Nigeria marks her 2023 democracy day.

Statement Reads in Full;

Fellow constituents,

Today, June 12, marks another Democracy Day anniversary in the state and our country in general.

No doubt, since 1999 till date we have consistently been celebrating Democracy Day to mark the end of the Military rule and the return of power into the hands of those freely elected by the people. This celebration which was officially moved from May 29th to June 12th in 2018 by President Muhammadu Buhari, reminds us as Nigerians one free and fair election won by late Chief M.K.O Abiola which was later annulled.

As we commemorate this day by reminding ourselves of how Nigerians voted peacefully for candidates of their choice in the June 12, 1993 election which was later annulled in June 24th of that same year, let us recommit ourselves to the path of peaceful coexistence once again as Nigerians. Being peaceful and patriotic constituents will help us protect and preserve the ideals of democracy in our constituency and our home state in general.

It's exactly 30years today (June 12, 1993 - June 12, 2023) in honour of our national hero for democracy, Late Chief M.K.O Abiola who was not only a peaceful but also a patriotic nigerian.

Haven witnessed a succesful transition of government on May 29, in such a very peaceful manner, I urge us all to continue to embrace the path of peaceful coexistence and conducts in all our endeavours. Let us work in synergy with the new administration as it unveils its programs and people-oriented policies.

I am hopeful we can achieve this together for the good of our democracy. Let us showcase good character by allowing the best of our humanity come into play. The envisioned dreams of our home state is achievable through our constructive partnership, collaborative efforts and unalloyed support to the new administration in the state.

The tone you set at the grassroot will surely have a ripple effect on the system and our democracy at large. Gov. Peter Mbah came prepared for effective and efficient governance that will propel our home state to much greater heights. Gov. Mbah's manifesto on destructive innovation is a top-notch which is structured to bring about accelerated development in the state if given all the necessary support needed.

To achieve this however, we must all contribute. It is not the job of government alone. We must, as individuals and constituents make concerted efforts in supporting and cooperating with this administration to achieve its vision and set down goals for the people.

In my own capacity, I'm assuring you of my commitment towards delivering good dividends of democracy to our constituency at all times.

I am urging us to come together to work with Gov. Peter Mbah's government to build a peaceful and prosperous state.

God bless Awgu North Constituency.

God bless Enugu State.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
