ENUGU NANS HOLDS STUDENTS MENTORSHIP SUMMIT/2023 CONVENTION

The Enugu State Joint Campus Council of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) recently concluded its highly anticipated 2023 convention, which proved to be a resounding success. The convention, held at Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, showcased a range of empowering events, including a students' mentorship summit, manifesto presentations by aspiring officeholders, and subsequent elections to determine the new joint campus council members.
The convention began with the enlightening students' mentorship summit, which aimed to provide invaluable guidance and support to young individuals seeking to navigate their academic and professional journeys. Esteemed guest speakers from various fields, including academia, business, and public service, shared their experiences and offered practical advice to the attending students. The mentorship sessions provided a unique platform for attendees to interact directly with successful professionals and gain insights that could shape their future paths.
Following the mentorship summit, the convention moved on to the much-anticipated manifesto presentations. Students aspiring to occupy different offices within the joint campus council took turns to articulate their visions, aspirations, and plans to address pressing issues facing the student community. The manifestos covered a wide range of areas, including educational reforms, infrastructure development, student welfare, and the promotion of extracurricular activities.
The aspiring candidates displayed passion and enthusiasm, presenting well-thought-out strategies to address the challenges faced by students in Enugu State. Their manifestos emphasized the importance of collaboration, inclusivity, and the active involvement of students in decision-making processes. The presentations generated a sense of anticipation among the attendees, as they eagerly awaited the subsequent elections to determine the individuals who would lead the joint campus council.
The election process, conducted in a transparent manner saw enthusiastic participation from both candidates and students. The voting process was meticulously organized, ensuring the fair representation of all student Union presidents in the state. The results were finally announced, revealing the new leadership of the Enugu State Joint Campus Council.
In his closing remarks, the outgoing council chairman commended the student community for their active involvement and urged the newly elected officials to prioritize the interests of the students they would be representing. He emphasized the importance of upholding the core values of NANS and working collaboratively to effect positive change within the campuses.
The convention served as a remarkable platform for students in Enugu State to gain valuable mentorship, engage in democratic processes, and elect their representatives. With the newly elected joint campus council members, the student community now looks forward to a promising future, filled with opportunities for growth, development, and the realization of their aspirations.
The event was graced by the Enugu State Commisioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN),  Rev. Amb. Emmanuel Ositadinma Edeh, The Governing Council Chairman of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enuhu, Chief Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo,  Dr. Owan Obodoagu Tonica, the Provost, Federal Cooperative college Oji River, represented by the Dean of Students Affairs,  Monday Negbe Edeh, Dr. Nelson Kingsley, the Rector, Learn to Live Business School, Dr. Paul Iloegbouba, CEO Horizontal Property Developers LTD, Comrade Usman Barambu, The NANS national president, represented by the NANS VP National Affairs, Comr. Victor Ezenagu, youths and students leaders across the Southeast.
