Needless Hullabaloo Over Mbah's Transition Committee

By Charly Udeh

It is not surprising seeing and reading some busy bodies and interlopers insinuating and writing about unfounded and imaginary marginalisation and exclusion of the people of Enugu North Senatorial zone from Enugu Governor elect Dr. Barr. Peter  Ndubuisi Mbah's 64-man Transition Committee. These are expected from Labour Party supporters and losers, who are very angry and yet to come to terms with the reality of Barr. Chijioke  Edeoga's defeat in the governorship election.

Meanwhile, while there are many people from Enugu North Senatorial zone in the star-studded Mbah's Transition Committee, majority of the members are not from the state, but were picked on competence and integrity basis.  They were assembled as an ad-hoc committee that will help Barr. Mbah to design a policy direction and road map for his government, taking into consideration his manifesto and reality on ground in the state. Their assignments have specific terms of reference and timeline as can be seen in Barr. Mbah's own statement.

It is a tradition that majority members of transition committees do not neccesarily constitute or form members of the governments they worked for.  Mbah's Transition Committee is not his cabinet members or  appointees. That is the truth. But these mischief makers and social media minnows will always feign ignorance of this and always try to make mountain out of a molehill.

No genuine PDP member or supporter from Enugu North Senatorial zone who worked for Mbah's victory has complained or is complaining of being excluded in Mbah's Transition Committee. The so-called complaints by some PDP members from Enugu North Senatorial zone is a figment of imagination of some PDP moles, snakeholders cum Nsukka labourers, who are determined to do anything to pitch Barr. Mbah against Nsukka people, even before his government takes off. That is their motive. They are known and should not be taken serious.
