The Enugu State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), the umbrella body of all youth organizations in Enugu state, had on Friday 7th of April launched The Enugu Youth Business Support Scheme project with the highlight of the event being the presentation of business support grants of N50,000 each to 3 out of a total of 100 young entrepreneurs in the state that have qualified for the grant. The Enugu Youth Business Support Scheme was launched as part of the council's effort to support the growth and development of youth-led businesses in the state.
The grants were awarded after a rigorous pitch exhibition that involved a thorough review of the business plans of the applicants. The selection process was designed to ensure that only businesses with the potential for growth and scalability were considered for the grants. A total of 100 young entrepreneurs were selected from the pitch exercise and these 100 young business owners will each be awarded the Enugu Youth Business support grant. The first 3 entrepreneurs that got the grant are:
Miss Chibuko Joy Chiamaka: founder of Joyous touch, a registered business with the corporate affairs commission (CAC), which renders makeup services, and sells quality makeup and beauty products to clients all across the country.
Miss Perpetua Ohayi: Founder of Pep Glow, a clothing and shoe line registered with the CAC.
