The chairman of Enugu State Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB), Dr Favor Ugwuanyi, mni and her board members, management team, directors, chief supervising principals have set the ball rolling to exceed the Enugu State Govt secondary school students performance record of year 2021/2022 in the 2023 WAEC and NECO examinations
Recall that government secondary schools in Enugu state broke national records in two consecutive years under chairmanship of Dr Favor Ugwuanyi mni, emerging as best performing in Nigeria in WAEC and also best performing student in Nigeria. These feats were attributed to huge investments of governor Ugwuanyi in public schools to build new classroom blocks, rehabilitate existing ones, equip libraries and laboratories, introduce modern teaching aids, ICT equipment and also ensure proper motivation of teachers through retraining and prompt payment of salaries, emoluments and allowances and promotion packages. Lately, Dr Favor Ugwuanyi mni and her team celebrated the approval of extension of the retirement age of teachers to enable experienced, healthy teachers give out their best to the students with passion and commitment before retirement.
The chairman of PPSMB, a retired veteran teacher , administrator, mother and strict disciplinarian , Dr Mrs Favor Ugwuanyi mni implemented an on spot teacher assessment program to fish out absentee teachers, supervise strict teacher compliance with teaching curriculum and also access lesson notes. She also enforced strict monitoring of student attendance register to prevent trauncy especially in poor, rural communities where students abandon classes to do farm work. Dr Favor and her team also took cognizance of Schools in vulnerable areas and implemented improved security with pilot CCTV camera in schools and applied for assistance from members of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps to complement services of security guards during the school hours. Strict monitoring of dormitories and student prep hours have been enforced.
As expected, some teachers and principals with low performance have been recommended for disciplinary committee of the PPSMB while those with repeated cases of under performance in some schools were redeployed to give room for energetic, vibrant and committed teachers to carry out the mandate of quality and affordable mass education. Expectedly, unrepentant people throw tantrums, engage in campaigns of calumny because they want comfort without responsibility, salary payment without any service to society. It is the sad state of our nation. We pamper corruption and fight against the bold and courageous who address corruption Headon.
It must be stated that the future of a nation is dependent on the overall moral and academic development of its young people. Young people who cheat in examinations will end up as adults who cheat in everything. Shamefully, some will end up in INEC. Teaching a child the value of hardwork and honesty is priceless. Nations where hardwork and honesty is rewarded enjoy quantum leap in development in all spheres. Those who cheat in schools also cheat in churches, no matter the position u give them especially building committee and they fight and frustrate any clergy that challenge their malfeasance.
It must be stated clearly that MIRACLE EXAMINATION CENTERS are centers where people are hired to help students cheat to pass examinations. These are done mostly by private schools who know that they do not have qualified, well renumenurated teachers or worse they adopt educational curriculums which emphasize social intelligence and etiquette without emphasis on academic development. Don't be deceived, for students to pass WAEC/NECO , the school curriculum must comply with standards not the deceptive so called foreign curriculum being brandished to deceive parents to pay higher fees. Students of government secondary schools in Enugu outperformed students from private schools under the chairmanship of Dr Favor Ugwuanyi mni. Why? Air conditioners and well furnished schools cannot replace qualified, well motivated teachers and strict monitoring of use modern teaching aids and deployment of teaching skills.
Quality, affordable public education in the south east is the reason why the people from the south east have higher chances of success in adult life than their counter parts from other regions. Under Dr Mrs Favor Ugwuanyi mni, Enugu has the best performing students in Nigeria. This is not a small feat.
For parents, please invest in ur children education by ensuring the child attends school on time, does home work, reads regularly and most importantly, that you supervise their use of phones, computers, games to avoid addiction. Teen sex destroy children. Keep your children focused. Special thanks to Dr Mrs Favor Ugwuanyi for enforcement of strict discipline and morals for students, for teacher retraining programs by the revered, National institute of policy and strategic studies, NIPSS, first ever teachers summit in Nigeria held in Enugu and well deserved teacher renumeration package, including prompt payment of salaries and extension of retirement age to 65 years.
Teacher absenteeism is anathema to public schools curriculum. Dr Favor Ugwuanyi mni, thank you for standing your grounds. Take my word, If you consider yourself too big to teach in govt schools in Enugu because of ur connection or side earnings, please don't destroy future of students who are desirous to learn. Change profession.
Teaching is a service to God and humanity. God bless our devoted teachers. In this age and time of social media, good teachers should be celebrated and showcased online by their former students. It will motivate them to do more.
Did you know that Many teachers seldom age unlike crooked politicians and honest but sedentary employees in other sectors. My secondary school teacher is still bouncing. Why? Teachers are young at heart and are modest in everything including food and material possession.
Congratulations in advance to students of Enugu state govt secondary schools preparing for WAEC/NECO starting in May /June. DR FAVOR and her board members are waiting to give you awards and celebrate your graduation after your exams and also enroll you to the SKILLFEST PROGRAM 2023
Gov Ugwuanyi did well in secondary education development in Enugu.
