Observing, knowing and sensing that their stooge and Labour Party governorship candidate, Bar. Chijioke Edeoga will be defeated in the Saturday governorship election in Enugu State, by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Bar. Peter Mbah, the duo of the former President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo and brother-in-law of Edeoga, Chief John Nnia Nwodo and the former Minister of Power, who lost in PDP governorship primaries in Enugu and has remained embittered, Prof. Barth Nnaji have been running around and mounting pressure on the Enugu State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Chukwuemeka Chukwu and his staff to rig the election for Edeoga, dangling N500,000 million and houses before them, Primetime investigations revealed.
A source in INEC who pleaded anonymity disclosed to Primetime news that the duo of Nwodo and Nnaji, who met with the REC at Nwodo's house in GRA Enugu recently and were not happy with the REC's response to their request despite the financial gratifications offered him, have been desperately reaching out to prominent Nigerians across the country who know the REC including family members to talk to him to do their biddings.
Primetime investigations revealed that apart from pressuring INEC, the duo of Nwodo and Nnaji have been also mounting pressure on Catholic Bishops and priests to withdraw support for Mbah and support Edeoga, a move which the clergymen have rebuffed with vehemence, insisting on support for Mbah on competence and merit bases.
