The excuse that governor Ugwuanyi did not do much in his home base by a section of hired social media tadpoles is threadbare.
Before now, the governor was adored, admired and celebrated by his kinsmen as a politician of a rising order, a master of enigma, adroit and charismatic leader of a very sublime class who never competed for limelight.
The bubble busted after the State party primary of the people's democratic party (PDP) held on the 25th of May, 2022 which produced Dr Peter Mbah as the winner against the prefferd candidate of some ethnocentric politicians from Enugu North Zone. That was the actual reason for all the tactrum and smear campaign sponsored by the opposition Party in Enugu North Zone.
But like Aldous Huxley would say, " Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." The truth of the matter is that Peter Mbah candidature was a wise choice. He towers ahead of his contemporaries by every measure. His innovative track record, demonstrated management savvy and nobility of purpose stand him out in every crowd. Emotion and reason are at odd with each other, the governor etched his name in the golden Hall of Fame by insisting that the best of all the aspirants should be given support.
Governor IFEANYI UGWUANYI as a wise man who is conscious of the fact that his tenure is time bound, ensured that his people were planted in strategic agencies and ministries so that they can empower others. Under his supervision, Nsukka people had significant presence in all the ministries and parastatals of the State. Those fighting the governor in his zone fail to ascertain the posting and placement in some important government offices in favour of their brothers, a case in point is the principal officers newly posted to the State University of Medical sciences.
At a time and period when the almighty Federal government is going cap in hand borrowing to fund priority project, governor Ugwuanyi saw to the construction of Opi-Nsukka dual carriage road, Udenu Ring road, Brown crescent road, Ojoto crescent road, Ogrute-Umuokpu-Ete road, the 26.66 km Ukpabi -Nimbo -Ugbene -Ajimana road, the 22.433 km Neke - Mbu road, Enugu road, Tectonics road, Echera -ikenga road, Oloto 1 and Oloto 2 road and the Justina Eze road among many other in Nsukka zone.
Not done yet, Ugwuanyi built a State University of Medical sciences, attracted a Federal Polytechnic Ohodo in Igbo Etiti, built State Sectraite Annex, a mini Stadium to boost sports activities, brand new general hospital in Ogrute, upgraded Nsukka general hospital with full compliment of modern equipment, built about 4 type 3 health center in the zone that provides primary and secondary health care services. The ICT center at Obollo afor, the State Polytechnic campus at Nsukka were built by this administration, while several high School were renovated and equipped in his zone. The hitherto epileptic power supply in the zone was tackled by the governor when the power station at Nru junction was activated and connected to the national grid.
There is no duty as urgent as returning thanks for a favour done . Adada zone should as a matter of patriotism support governor Ugwuanyi for his magnanimity to them. The university of medical and applied sciences built by this administration is capable of absorbing over 300 personnel of Nsukka extraction, aside from ending medical tourism in the zone.
What else will Ugwuanyi do in his zone to impress his traducers. The beauty of the complex political ecology in Enugu North Zone is the population strength of men and women of letters. They understand when emotion and sentiment are at play. This is the reason why a galaxy of political heavy weights including the renowned Oganiru Nsukka supported Peter Mbah during the party nomination exercise despite immense ethnic pressure.
In the words of Calvin Coolidge, When the reference of this nation for it's great men dies, the glory of the nation dies with it. " No matter all the noise and distraction, the people of Nsukka will never allow emotion to guide their thought , they will rise in unison to vote enmass for their Pathfinder.
The upper chamber of the national assembly has no space for those desperately in need of financial rehabilitation. The Red Chamber is strictly reserved for experienced legistilators who understands the nitty-gritty of relevant comitee board room politics.
That is where Ugwuanyi, Hero of Adada power game , perfectly fits in.
As Ndi Enugu have accepted to caste their vote for Peter Mbah , it is also imperative that our Nsukka brothers support Ugwuanyi for his Senatorial ambition, this will pave way to other candidates of PDP across board.
In every way, our governor, a man of valour, a philanthropist of immense propensity, the Uduleke Enyi 1of Orba kingdom deserve to represent us at the Red Chamber.
