The leadership and membership of the Igbo-Etiti Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) Campaign Council led by its Director-General, Hon. Malachy Agbo and the Chairman of Igbo-Etiti LGA, Hon. Ikenna Nwodo yesterday commenced aggressive ward- to-ward campaign to canvass for support and votes for their candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
The Campaign Council members and leaders, who met briefly at their campaign headquarters at Ogbede yesterday before taking off for the campaign tour of wards in a long convoy visited Ohede, Ozalla, Ohodo and Ekwegbe wards.
Speaking at each of the ward visited after being received by mammoth crowd of jubilant party faithful, enthusiastic villagers and supporters, Hon. Nwodo and Agbo reminded the people of the numerous achievements of the PDP-led government in the state and local government since 1999 till date and urged them to vote en masse for the PDP candidates that include Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for Enugu North Senatorial zone seat, Bar. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for Enugu governorship seat, Dr. Martins Oke for Igbo-Etiti/ Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency seat, Hon. Ezenta Ezeani for Igbo-Etiti East State Constituency seat and Hon. Ebuka Ugwu for the Igbo-Etiti West State Constituency seat in the forthcoming elections.
Also speaking in the same vein, the PDP candidates from Igbo-Etiti LGA namely Oke, Ezenta and Ugwu, who thanked the party faithful and supporters for their unflinching support and unalloyed loyalty to the party, assured them of more democracy dividends, better and quality representations if reelected and elected.
Responding on behalf of the party members and supporters at the various wards visited, the PDP councillors assured the candidates and the members of the campaign council of their total support and massive votes in 2023 elections, stressing that they have no alternative to PDP which they described as their home and best among the equals.
Others who spoke at the campaign rallies include the Commissioner for Lands, Hon. Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, Igbo-Etiti LGA PDP Chairman, Hon. Okoro Eze, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transport and Director General of Gburugburu Campaign Organization in Igbo-Etiti LGA, Hon. Ogbonna Idike, member representing Igbo-Etiti West Constituency, Hon. James Akadu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Legal Matters, Bar. Kingsley Awuka, Permanent Secretary, Post Primary School Management Board, Engr. Remi Eze, member 1 Enugu State Civil Service Commission and former Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Mrs. Eucharia Offor.
Also present at the rally are Hon. Arc. Chris Offor, Special Adviser to Governor on Media And Publicity, Hon. Samson Ezea, Special Assistant (SA) to Governor, Hon. Chineme Agu, Deputy Director Igbo-Etiti PDP Campaign Council, Engr. Paul Dinwoke, Secretary of the Campaign Council, Hon. Ejike Kennedy Ushi Leader Igbo-Etiti Legislative Council, Hon. Valentine Atunya, Councillors, Development Centre administrators, party leaders, Ward executives and others.
The Campaign Council will continue the ward- to- ward campaign on Saturday February 11, 2023.
