Enugu North Mega Rally: Ashua Az'ma

If you were at Nsukka Stadium, the newly constructed modern architecture by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, yesterday to behold the mammoth crowd singing and dancing in appreciation of the Ugwuanyi administration, the PDP and its candidates, you would agree with me that ashua az'ma. The game is over!
It was a mega rally of Enugu North Senatorial Zone, comprising Igbo-Etiti, Igbo-Eze North, Igbo-Eze South, Nsukka, Udenu and Uzo-Uwani Local Government Councils. No one was left at home. It appeared everyone emptied into the 5000-capacity stadium to be part of the huge support for the PDP. The place was filled to overflow. The neighborhood was also crowded up to Total Roundabout down to Odenigbo. The entire Nsukka GRA was set agog and the crowd surged from all nooks and crannies of Nsukka.
Chants of support for Governor Ugwuanyi, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and the PDP rent the air and reverberated all over the place. Nsukka people had come to make a bold statement; to tell the world that they stood by the PDP and their illustrious son, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. It was in appreciation of the sterling performance of the governor. It was a moment when Ugwuanyi's scorecard was relived and divested of the cloak of virulent envy orchestrated by some turncoat politicians of Nsukka extraction who had sold a dummy to the people with a view to diminish Governor Ugwuanyi's selfless sacrifice to Ndi Nsukka simply because some inept fellow failed at the PDP gubernatorial election held on 25th May, 2022.
Governor Ugwuanyi had shun clannishness and cronyism in his own choice of a successor. He knew the capacity of the contestants and would not subject Enugu State to the incompetence of a purported relationship desperate to rule without any idea what governance is all about. Governor Ugwuanyi had boldly made a choice of a young visionary leader with clearcut antecedent of exceptional capacity for disruptive innovation and transformation. Peter Mbah had the antecedent of upstaging the big players in the downstream oil sector and took Pinnacle Oil and Gas Limited to the pinnacle, thereby controlling the largest market share and revenue in that sector. Governor Ugwuanyi knew that with Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, his many legacies of good governance strewn across the state would be sustained, a foundation upon which Mbah would launch the state to his proposed astronomical economic growth, thereby bringing to manifestation the zero percent level of poverty headcount index in the state within eight years. Ugwuanyi was quite altruistic in his choice. Ironically, instead of commendation, some daredevil old hags twisted it, laced it with sentiments and  sang their own nunc dimitis themselves, thinking Ugwuanyi would be stymied down and out. Contrary to their vile intentions, the rains that beat the eagle have made its body clean. Ugwuanyi's goodwill, love and acceptance by Ndi Nsukka grew and spread like wild fire instead.
Nsukka people trooped out yesterday to bury the evil besmear campaigns of the disgruntled turncoats in their whited sepulchre of villainous betrayal and crass perfidy, for all those behind the ill-advised haranguing of the governor had largely benefitted from his administration. Nsukka people exposed the Judas to shame by openly rejecting them and wildly embracing Ugwuanyi, Mbah and the PDP.
Governor Ugwuanyi's legacies in Nsukka cultural zone or if you like Enugu North Senatorial Zone were recounted in the words of Hon. Ezenta Ezeani. Ezenta had recalled that the Science University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) which Ugwuanyi founded and built in the zone, specifically at Igbo-eno, had just been unveiled two days before. He also pointed to Federal Polytechnic Ohodo which Ugwuanyi attracted to the zone. Ezenta referred the people to the general hospitals Ugwuanyi built in the six local governments as well as the type 3 hospitals. He also pointed to the various roads within the zone Ugwuanyi constructed and asphalted: the 42-kilometer Udenu Ring Road, the 26-kilometer Uzo-Uwani Road, the many RAMP roads to which the governor graciously made available counterpart funding, the Opi-Nsukka dual carriage way, and so many other projects in agriculture, human capital, commerce and industry, education, to mention no more. Speakers upon speakers roused the people to these realities, and often time, the crowd would erupt in paroxysmal shouts of praises, ululation, excitement, and chants of utter approval and satisfaction with the legacies of the Ugwuanyi administration in Enugu North Senatorial Zone.
The chairman of the Organizing Committee, His Excellency, Ezenwata Okechukwu Itanyi, former Deputy Governor of Enugu State, poured unreserved encomium on the governor and Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. He said that no government had done for Nsukka People what Ugwuanyi had done for them, extolling the virtues of humility and kindness which Governor Ugwuanyi embodied. He specifically commended Governor Ugwuanyi for ensuring the emergence of Peter Mbah which is a blessing to Enugu State
The governorship candidate of the PDP, Barr. Peter Mbah, received the total endorsement of Nsukka people at the stadium. The traditional rulers from the zone yet again blessed and prayed for him, giving him the ofo insignia of endorsement and best wishes. The crowd bust into chants of praises and total support for Mbah as he made his acceptance speech. For Ndi Enugu North Senatorial Zone, it is PDP all the way.
Going by the crowd at the stadium, one is bound to ask those who brag that they have hold on Nsukka with the emotional dummy they hawk the question, how far now? So it was all empty rodomontade the claim that Labour would sweep Nsukka? The token of liars has been frustrated. All those running to villages in the zone to tell old wives' fables against Ugwuanyi and the PDP have been exposed as barren crags, empty vessels making the loudest noise. The Ugwuanyi-led PDP has shown strength and capacity. The little masquerades running about the arena have taken to their heels now that the ijele bestrides the landscape. Governor Ugwuanyi does not make noises. He is a man of few words who is given to the action that speaks louder than voice. Ugwuanyi has smitten the tse-tse fly and has displayed a palm of blood. The PDP is coasting home with victory on 25th February and 11th March respectively. Indeed ashua az'ma!
